Page Settings
The Settings tab contains CSS rules that control the page layout, particularly the page size and margins. These settings use CSS @page rules that apply when your resume is rendered for PDF export.
The @page Rule
The @page CSS rule lets you control page dimensions and margins:

Units
You can use different units for margins:
in- inches (e.g.,0.5in)cm- centimeters (e.g.,1.27cm)mm- millimeters (e.g.,12.7mm)pt- points (e.g.,36pt)
Inches are most common for US resumes, centimeters for international.
How Settings Work with Other Tabs
Your resume is built from three parts:
- Markdown - Your content
- CSS - Styling for your content (fonts, colors, spacing)
- Settings - Page-level configuration (size, margins)
The Settings CSS is applied after your main CSS, and it specifically handles page layout for PDF generation.
Tips for Page Settings
- Start with the defaults (
lettersize,0.5inmargins) - they work well for most resumes - Use letter size if applying to US/Canadian companies, A4 for international
- Keep margins between 0.4in and 0.75in for good readability
- Too-small margins can make your resume feel cramped
- Too-large margins waste valuable space
- Test your resume with your settings to ensure content fits properly
- If your resume is slightly over one page, try reducing margins slightly before cutting content
Other @page Properties
While size and margin are the most important, you can also use:

However, the basics (size and margin) are usually all you need.
